been over to my dads today, where the donor cossie granada is being stored. popped the bonnet, frozen solid.

bugger.

realised ive not used the work van for 4 weeks over christmas, dashed home. same story. double bugger. not enough glycol in either.


got both thawed out with fan heaters and buckets of hot water. not attempted to run them yet, no loose coreplugs or apparent leaks. just hope they dont make like fire pumps when i do

thankfully the red van is ok. check your antifreeze people, even if you're sure its ok. i was.....

Hope there both ok need to put some more in mine it is in the van just not the block its still in the back so if it does freeze ill let some one kick my arse or head there again no sence no feeling recon i should be shot or something just as bad

well the diseasel seems ok, its been running ok on the drive for half an hour and its holding a steady temp, no water loss or plumes of steam from the exhaust just hope the cossie is ok too.

one more downer, some twonk has driven into the van in the snow, bust the indicator and creased the wing, and driven off *&^$£$%

I can't believe the stupidity of some people! Sorry guys this is basic maitenence...

A lad at work was on about his cars, saying last time he checked neither had oil showing on the dipstick?????? I said I had some cheapo asda 1ltr I carry around for emerg'... yup, check his level, no oil... poured in 1 ltr of oil, still no show on dipstick!!!

I told him a gallon of the cheapest oil was 6 quid, but he refused to buy any!, These are the kind of people I end up buying a car off and turning out to be a fookin pile!

Oil or anti freeze 6 quid... new motor £?????

Spent most of the last week and a half watching muppets buy bottle water for their windscreens cos they probably didn't use screenwash, saw one guy with a puncture and his spare was flat too.... fookin' muppets!

Another lad at work had a slow puncture, kept blowing it up for weeks, if not months.... lost control on a roundabout and wrote his car off... puncture repair, a tenner... car wrote off not quite as much insurance money as he'd hoped for!

This muppet runs with winter/ summer , anti freeze coolant all year round ,30%=40% summer 50=60% winter if a bad one but the stuff in the back was just the top up, so should have been ok anyway but added this mornin anyway just to be on safe side and after running a cossie and rover turbo always check oil and water daily any way but as you say some dont obviously more money than braincells probably not many of either.

well the good news is the cossie seems ok, it ran for half an hour on the drive today and didnt overheat or lose any water. i got a week off work in march so i'll be bringing it back here and pulling the engine out, with any luck it might be in the van berore the year is out
