Decyphering the VIN. Also is this the LAV spec?

Right, been checking out my VIN plate.


GVW is 3500kg
GTW is 5500kg

So, based on a fully loaded van, a loaded trailer can weigh a maximum of 2000kg?


However, there are a couple of figures I cannot pinpoint.

In box number 1 is the figure 1600kg

In box number 2 is the figure 2200kg

What do these two weights signify? What do the figures on the RHS relate to?





Also, I presume this schematic has something to do with LAV? I presume 'x' relates to measurements at certain loads?

1600 = max front axle load
2200 = max rear axle load.

The diagram shows the brake bias based on the rear axle load...

As for everything else - there is a thread on here (under useful info?) about how to decipher it. Its got stuff like the axle ratio, engine power, what suspension, trim etc in it.

And yes you can tow a trailer weighing up to 2000kg behind a fully loaded van (or more if empty)
