heater fan

greetings out there

need some advice please

got a mk 5 lwb love it to bits but this morning had the heater on and as working fine till i had a horrible sqeaking noise comeing from under the dash the noise stopped if i turned it don to 1 on the switch. left it till this afternoon and then checked again to see if i could locate noise and had the fan running 4 about 30 secs when i suddenly stopped and then realised that i now had no heating so am assuming fan has burnt out
have searched site cos cant locate fan so could someone tell where to locate it and am i right in my findings that the fan has burnt out

what a coincidence ive just had the same problem myself the bearing has gone in mine causing it to jam and blow the fuse ive just finished taking it out.

the motor is behind the radio and is quite dificult to remove

after scratching my head for an hour i searched on here and found a guide on how to remove it and it only took 5 mins
