Loss of clutch

Hopefully someone can offer some advice. I have a 95 smiley Di.

Occaisionaly when depressing the clutch I hear a noise, which sounds like a spring has come loose. When this happens I am unable to change gear. By pressing the clutch peddle a couple of times it becomes operational again and I get the use of the gears back.

The sound is comming from the footwell/ peddle- has anyone experienced this and can let me know how to solve it.

sounds about right - if it keeps giving trouble ford do the bits to convert to manually adjustable cable

I drove 60-70 miles to Northampton from Birmingham today, when i got there, i put the clutch, made a crackinig noise, couldnt find a gear for love nor money. Ended up stuck on an island, got it working in the end, worked all the way back home too. Bloody thing.
