Batt light is flashing and orange light in bottom left

When I first Start the van which is an r reg smiley the orange light come on in the bottomed left corner of my clocks and also the red batt light which came on when I first started the van but went once I reved the engine is now flashing on and off for a second or so at a time. Any help would be really appreciated. Phil

Orange light is water in the diesel filter. There is a drain plug on the bottom of the filter in the engine bay.

Check your fan belt is tight enough and check the connections to the alternator. A bad connection or a slipping belt can cause the warning light to flicker.
