transit fuel pump on ldv?

Im sorry its about a ldv, with a transit engine. are the fuel pumps the same my mate has got a r reg ldv pickup and the pump has gone dwn. i have a s reg transit in my yard with a rod through the block can i change the pump over? im not sure if his is a turbo or not i havent seen it yet. any help would be great.

Presuming they are both 76 ps (Banana manifold) Yes, but are you sure he has a Transit engine, Were LDVs not still on Peugeot engines on R reg I know they had the MT75 box by then

It got a transit engine but i think the van in my yard has di without the bannana manifold. arent the engines the same any way?
or does the bannana engine have a belt driven pump?

All the Di engines have a belt driven pump, so the Transit one should work ok

S reg is changeover for the emissions criteria. If the injectors havent got the same numbers swap them over too

I have just noticed that you're not sure if the LDV has the turbo engine .....................
If it has, then the pump wont be a straight swap, as these have the Lucas EPIC system

The injection pump is at the front of the engine, on the drivers side, just behind the timing cover

Are you sure that the LDV has a Transit engine? It is possible that it has the older Peugeot lump

If itt's a 1998 LDV, it will be a Ford Di engine. Either 76ps 'Banana' or 85ps Turbo.


My old 97 Convoy was a Di.

If it's an "R" reg, it could be 1997, changeover year for these engines

The ldv has a transit engine with a bannana manifold. i will look at the van in my yard tomorrow but im sure it looks different.

OK, so long as the LDV has a Transit engine, then your Transit engine will be more or less the same motor, if it is a diesel! It may not be a banana engine, and it could be a turbo, but the pump will be in the same place, even if the pump itself is different

We have a R reg LDV Convoy pickup TDi. If the engine isn't a banana 2.5 Di then probably it's a Turbo Engine with the EPIC electronic system.
You can change the pump to a manual pump and cable control. I done this over a year ago on our convoy TDI and still running
