Air filter Question

Right another silly Question

since i brought the van the airfilter box has been broken i glued it back together but

when welding the other day i took it out and broke it

So i was thinking can you fit one of those sports air filters to a 2.5 diesel ?

so i can get rid of that big lumpy box

if you can change it will it afect the fuel consupshion?

Yes you can. It will make the van sightly more responsive to the right foot but be warned it will be plenty noisier (more airflow = more induction roar). If your cab is well noise proofed, it shouldn't be too noticable.

I fitted a Green cone to my last Di and it made one hell of a roar under acceleration, scared the $hit out of the wife first time she heard it

Have you got more details about that change, I'd be interested to maybe do that to mine.

I've done that to at least three airboxes now, if it wasn't black i'd be almost certain in saying that ford made them out of cheese, slightly matured.
