Speedo not working

Ive just had another engine put in my 2ltr Petrol transit V reg , and the speedo isnt working nor is it clocking the miles..Now someone said it could be the Pulse thingy (forgot what he called it now) is it expensive and easy to fix??

Got an auto electrician looking at it on Tuesday(Just hope i dont get flashed by a camera in the meantime )

Any advice would be great..I think its an electric speedo and all the wires are connected

My speedo only shows 60 KPH when I'm doing 80, so I use the tacho as a seedo.
