Propshaft bearing shroud/collar

Hi All. Earlier today I found myself in a bit of mess on a main road due to the propshaft bearing housing/mounting bracket having sheared away from the bearing.

After looking around for something to tie the prop up with, cable ties did the trick and got me home.

My question is: Is a simple strapping up all that it requires to function?. The bearings were replaced 2 weeks ago and I suspect my clutch judder has caused the spot welds to shear.

And because of the juddering clutch will it be better having a little bit of flexibility or getting it fixed a little more securely?.

I propose fixing it with some steel/rubber strapping and not cable ties.
