Changing a temperature sender

Postby Neil-79 » Mon Feb 15, 2010 8:37 pm

I'm trying to change the temperature sender on my 1994 2.5l transit. Everything seems to be in the way. What is the trick to changing it?

cheers

is your thermostat housing the later plastic 1??if so the temp sender is on the rear side of it and is undone with a spanner or long reach socket with a universal joint and long bar after unplugging the plug for it..earlier ones are below the rad hose on the thermostat housing, you could remove the top hose to make it easier but dont think i have ever done that to any Di engines..takes about 5 mins to change the sender unit

Thanks for your reply. It is the later one with it on the side. Basically the rad hose covers it and the body work is in the way of a spanner but I think I've got a way of getting a long reach on it.
