Transit SWB length

Postby GPKevo » Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:44 pm

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone here might care to post the external dimensions of the Mark4 Transit SWB? I'm trying to book a ferry crossing and they need the height of my van (2.5 metres) and the length, which I don't know.

Cheers! :)

2.5 high? is it a high top?
I book 4.5m when I book ferry or eurostar.

If its a SWB, the length is 4616mm, (inc step), width is 1972mm (outside) Thats a Mk5 but I'm fairly sure they are the same

Thank you, guys! Yes, it's for a ferry booking. It has a fibreglass high top added to it to create a storage bay. The original Transit roof is still intact.

If you are using peages abroad they will charge you more for being over 2m high. the tourneo is 1.96m high ( I assume standard transits are the same) and goes under the bar on the toll booths

It's 2.5 metres high with the roof rack, which I sailed with on Irish Ferries as they have a vans under 2.6 meters category. The roof rack is now off (I've never used it and it was damaging the rain sills) so that should shave a few more cm for the next trip.
