No red Key for Transit97 minibus

Have had our Ford Transit smiley 1998 minibus for 8 years now with only one key for it no red key was available when we bought it. What do I need to do to get spares? Yes I know its taking now to do something about it but such is life!!!!

There are some auto locksmiths who can clone the key that you have, so the PATS "thinks" you're using the same key
The only other way is a re-code and a new key from Ford

you can get a new key cut and just swap the little chip over to the new one.

that is what i have done as had 2 blacl keys no red.

Quite true, but that won't give him a spare key

Or you could hide the old key key in the steering cowling (removing the key part) and just have keys cut tho not recommended

when i was changing my lock i brought a hole genuin ford set of ebay for £28

and when i went to ford i asked how much they wanted £78+vat! (they can keep em )

but to programm the new keys to the van they wanted around £80+vat and more for somthink else.

I said to em in that case the keys are worth more than the van
