Not as easy as the circlip type but I have done it many, many years ago on a Cortina when I was younger and more foolish. I remember getting a kit for the job and fitting involved measuring how far the caps were into the forks and included use once staking tools. It was not an easy job and needed a large bench vice. It all depends if you can get a kit for the larger Transit joints but I would take the prop to a drive-line specialist and get them to replace the U/J. At least you will know it is still in ballance.
