Fuel filter stuck

Postby Xbttran » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:51 pm

Hi,
I need to change the fuel filter on my V reg transit 120. There is a large knurled plastic ring at the top of the filter which I assume you rotate in the direction of the - arrow and pull it off.
Only thing is the ring is jammed rock solid tight!!!
Has anyone on the forum had any experience of this problem and any ideas on how to solve it? Would a chain wrench do it?
Help before I resort to a hammer and chisel and ruin my van.

Twist it clockwise to undo. It should come off easily. If it is jammed solid then the filter was not installed correctly in the first place. Try pushing the filter upwards whilst unscrewing the retaining ring.
