mk5 banana, orange dash light???

the one on the left, cant work out what the image is on it , came on whilst on the way home and the van was starting to smell and lots of heat coming in the cab, but temp gauge says all is ok???

anyone please let me know what this orange light is... Bottom left of clocks. cheers

Sounds like the 'water in fuel' light to me

and how would this cause heat and smell?

Check the fuel filter is not leaking and dripping onto anything, maybe shorting on the wires to the water in fuel sensor located at the base of the fuel filter.

many thanks, I think you may have just hit the nail on the head there... I had to get the starter pack on it and noticed a bit of a wet patch by the air filter, many thanks for your help yet again
