Where can I get a G4X 2A, A127-70 Alternator.

Postby AndrewW » Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:33 pm

My alternator's on the blink and I need a reconditioned one. Alternatively I need to know if the original could be reconditioned. I've done the usual searches and drawn a blank. I live in Wolverhampton. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Sorry, they are in Dixon Street, not Cable Street.

Thanks psv. It seems a good idea to get a 95 amp as it's for a camper with leisure batteries. Would there be any problem fitting this later model?

you would need the 2 pin plug and modify your wiring a little bit (but nothing too major)

err no its not...

The bosch 95A has a 2 wire multiplug for the rev counter and exciter wire and a bolted on charge wire.

The lucas either has the wires all bolted on, or the earliest ones had a plug witch is basically boggo spade connectors.

Oops see what you mean PSV  bosch one will bolt straight up

Come Monday if the fittings don't overcomplicate things, I'll be looking for the higher watt version. I thought I'd give the Transit Centre in Dudley a call amongst others. Just out of interest does this place have a good reputation? Many thanks to the respondents for their help. This has been my 1st post and I am impressed by the readiness of others to assist.
