mk4 speedo cluster

i have a speedo cluster from a late mk3/early mk4 transit that i am putting in in place of my old tacho...however, after removing thwe tacho bracket i have noticed that the cluster i have does not fit very well in the gap left.

will one of these clusters work in my 1993 mk4?

i am replacing the speedo cable as well so compatibility there will not be a problem.

None of those will fit...

The one you have is correct...

It will sit in a frame which, will have

been "modified" to take a Tacho.

You will need another frame from a Mk3 or 4..

my nearest breakers only has smiley transits

i could make one out of thick black perspex (6-8mm) and some corner brackets...but it would be good to have an image of one to work from.

can anyone supply me a picture of the bracket i need so i can try to manufacture one myself?

is there some sort of plastic insert that sits inside the dash itself right in front of the steering wheel?

or it that the bracket of which you speak?
