tank breather

Postby koondaholaa » Sat Mar 20, 2010 10:56 pm

i am down to this -the car runs fine if i fill the fuel filter with diesel but dies about 5 minutes later
when i take the fuel filter off there is a big sucking noise so there is back presure and the filter is empty
just put in new fuel pump .
read here that the symptoms that i had (jerking loss of power up hill) is also related to tank breather
can you guys tell me if you can repair the tank breather or will i have to buy new one

i asume after i drop the tank its self explanatory ???

many thanks kamil

hey i tried to run it without the filler cap on but its doing the same thing - still big whoosh when i take the filter off

i am going to try to run it from a can directly into the lift pump
to get it home an then try to blow the line

would did still not get fuel if the return line was clogged too ?

thanks kamil

hey i put a fuel line directly into the tank thru the filling hole and attached it to the fuel pump and got home
seems like the engine run very well

so i am down to :
the fuel line from the tank to fuel pump
return fuel line to tank
breather
and sender unit ???

which could be cause of me not getting any fuel ?? and how can i repair it
could the breather cause the fuel pump not getting fuel out of tank and just creating vacuum ??
OR I THE SENDER UNIT WHEN BROKEN BLOCKING THE FUEL LINE TO THE FUEL PUMP

ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS THANKS KAMIL
