Engine wont start

Hi,

Me and 2 friends bought a transit yesterday. Then it worked fine, started with no problem at all.
But suddenly when we tried to start it a few hours later the engine sounds normal but it wont start!
We checked all the fuses but they seems to be alright, we are no mechanics so what is the next thing to do?

we need a bit more to go on - how old is it? is it petrol or diesel?

1994 Petrol.

take a spark plug out - plug it back into the lead - rest it on top of the engine so its touching metal then turn the engine over with the key you should see it spark!

check that 1st

Just had something similair myself..On my van it was the crank sensor..Maybe of some help in finding the fault

Today it started perfectly. We degreased it yesterday so maybe something was damp?

We are going to use it next week when we are going to the world cup in germany so I hope nothing annoying happens by then.

I'll upload some pictures for you when we're done.

Thats what mine did..Sometimes it would start then it wouldnt,as the crank senor had vibrated loose..Just incase it wasnt anything damp..Bloody pain especially if your going to the world cup you dont want it stop starting before and after every game

Sounds like damp / water logged yes. Did you make sure to put clingfilm or plastic bags over the coil and other electrical things before you started? Water sitting on spark plug leads and on the engine block near the sparkplugs will definitely stop the thing firing up.

No we didn't cover anything but we never washed the engine itself so I guess we thought the hood would do the job

Im off to the garage again, if anything happens again I will return
