valve exhaust manifold control vacuum

could someone tell me if my van will be ok running without the "valve exhaust manifold control vacuum" and if so where do all the hoses that i take off it go to?
If not where do i go except for ford to buy a new one, they seem to want an awful lot of money for a seemingly small part.
The only reason mine does not work is that two small lugs have snapped off so i cannot attach the hoses, any ideas?

you can block the hoses off with a small ball bearing and the EGR valve you will need fix open the butterfly valve. There is a thread somewhere on the forum for this modification. Search "EGR"

I repaired mine by putting the same size tubing as the original lugs a millimetre or two into the vacuum control valve and glueing it in place with areldite, I put a wooden Kebab stick un the tube to prevent the tube being blocked, and removed stick carefully when glue was not off but not running, ie about aquarter of an hour later. It worked fine, But now i dont use it any way as I have done a few modifications.

ps. you will find that after the gluing the vacuum control valve is stronger than a new one.
