propshaft bearing thingy

While trying to do the underseal yeaterday I noticed that the front rubber bearing(roughly under the drivers seat or just behind) is on the way out.
Its on a '97 natruel diesel SWB.

Can anyone shed any light on:
How difficult it is to replace
Where can I get one(resonably cheaply)
How Do I replace it

Its probably been posted already as a guide but if anyone has the link would be apreachiated.

propshaft center bearing about 10 -15 quid on ebay as mine has gone to like you need advice on fitting but been told half hour job

do a search... there is loads of info on here i did mine a couple of months ago,, got my bearing from transitparts on ebay

gone back and searched again...over 140 posts.

This was the most usefull info I could find

the prop bearing/s are easy to change with basic tools.

remove the prop shaft

mark the position of the sections before splitting it down at the slide joint to make it more manageable.

you'll see a bolt head inside the U/J close the bearing, it's held in place with a lock washer.

knock back the tab and undo the bolt head a few turns, it'll not come all the way out . With the bolt undone 10 turns or so the spacer will come out.

now you need to knock the u/j

Place the remaining section of prop in a good vice and use a blunt chiesel to knock the bearing off the prop, taking care not to damage the small metal plate which reduces the crud ingress.

knock the new bearing on the shaft (right way round ) and rebuild the shaft. Make sure you re fasten the locking tab on the bolt and also make sure that the shaft goes back together with all your marks aligned to prevent vibrations

Can anyone add to that or is that about it?
My mechanicing skills are limited so I dont want to buy a part then arse up the fitting only to be stuck without transport

same thing has gone on mine today, heard knocking coming form under the seat, i've got home armed with my haynes maunal and got underneath. bearings gone, now i'm no mechanic like.... literally got no idea... i'm a plasterer and general builder, can bulid you owt but engines are not sumat i've ever learned about or needed too till i bought this beast! what i wanna know is if i drive it maybe for a couple more days before i can get it in the garage am i gonna cause a load more damage? how much do any of you reckon it will cost to take it in to my local garage and get it done?, i've read through the manual and it looks fairly simple but i just dont have the tools or to be honest the know how... if i just grease up the bearing and take it easy minimal journeys etc... think i'll be ok?
