I really need to take the time to do some work on my tipper and have been overloading it slightly of late. Apart from my knackered thrust bearing and gearbox low on oil, I've discovered a new freewheeling noise coming from the nearside hub, kind of like a brake binding noise or knackered wheel bearing like something is scraping. Haven't jacked it and rotated the wheel yet as I'm too lazy or busy. Is this time for new wheel bearings you think anyone? Should I look at it ASAP or could I leave it a while without the hub falling off? - Doesn't seem like too much play in the bearings at present. Got an MOT two months ago and they said to tighten the bearings but that's just usual with a transit as they wear. I never did get around to it though.
Can anyone advise? Thanks.
