Mark 5 rear corner repair panels

Hi, I have just removed the rear bumper on my swb standard roof Mark 5 transit - it is completely rotten! Does anybody know if repair panels are available for these rear corners or do I have to fabricate my own?

I saw some somewhere the other week.

Try Imperial, it might of been there or maybe the bay??? If it is just a few holes, it is eaiser to just cut out and renew a bit instead of faffing with removing the whole panel without damaging other panels.

Thanks for the replies guys I am afraid it is more than a few holes This van has been dissolving away steadily for the past fifteen years and its time to put some strength back in My new welder ( clarke 151te) has just turned up and is about to be put to the test. I will be posting a picture log of before and after presently.

Thanks for the replies guys I am afraid it is more than a few holes This van has been dissolving away steadily for the past fifteen years and its time to put some strength back in My new welder ( clarke 151te) has just turned up and is about to be put to the test. I will be posting a picture log of before and after presently.

Looking forwardx to seeing the pictures as I need to replace one on mine, not sure if my gasless mig is man enough for the job though

I have heard good reports about the smaller gasless migs, if you are able to weld inside or in a sheltered position you should be ok. It should certainly be up to welding automotive grade mild steel so long as both surfaces are clean and grease free.
My welding is not pretty, that is why I bought the Clarke, I need all the help I can get
I may just post the before pics for the moment and update as I progress.
Final tip - ebay and alcohol do not mix I should be out and about doing whatever it is men of my age are supposed to be doing Instead I am going to weld a £300 transit back to life "cest la vie"

Gasless(fluxcore wire) is is designed for outside work,gas migs are mainly for inside work out of the wind otherwise the gas shroud gets blowen off your weld which ends up contamnated,the only problem your'll have with those those small gasless migs have a very high a low setting(30-40amps),you may end up blowing holes through your panels .
If your going with gas,then your gonna need argon/co2 mix,pure co2 or pub gas is quite hard to master on thin stuff so rip out the wifes washing machine break it up and have loads of practice on that 1st Make sure all metal is spotlessly clean ie no rust
