Advice needed!!

Hello all,

After doing the EGR mod around a month ago and turning the pump on a little ( 1.25 turns ) i was going to put it back to normal as the MOT is coming up. I turned the pump back, took the blanking plate out and took the tie off the egr but when i started the old girl up it wouldnt rev high and was billowing out heavy smoke! It was vibrating like hell and most of the road had a heavy fog !!! When i tinkered with it i found that by opening up the egr flap again cured the smoke and vibration straight away!! What have i done and is there a reason for this????

OOOPPPSSS !! Sorry, it a 98 ( s ) 190 LWB with the banana engine. Was fine before the mod so cant understand what is going on!!

Did you remember the connecting rod as without this the engine isn't getting enough air

Do i have to reset it back to normal for the MOT gas test? I was under the impression it would run cleaner with the egr mod thus going through the test easier

No you wont.

Mine goes through the MOT every year, with the EGR disabled, and the pump turned up

Well the EGR and pump are now remodded cheers mpuk and altransit!!
I had read somewhere that to pass the test they would need to be put back to normal? Nevermind Just got to finish off welding me inner sills then it's time to get her MOT'd!!
