Postby trigger » Mon May 17, 2010 11:00 pm

How easy or hard is it to make a bad boy bonnet? i fancy one on my van but i'm no good at welding, plus i would have to get it resprayed, does anyone have a good spare bb bonnet kicking around that they are not using?

You won't need to weldd it as the vent will be fiberglass you will just need to bond it in place with sika flex or similar. There's quite a few vents on eBay that don't even require a hole cutting as there purely cosmetic. Hope this helps :D

If you are on about covering the lights a little like most on here, you could cut the steel and then glue it in place. Providing you have enough contact area - they'll hold. It's not as if it holds and weight. Then you've just got to fill, sand and paint.

Worth it when it's done :!:

That's the bit i was thinking about, the "eyebrows" not vents, seen a few on here and thought they looked cool, i suppose if i glued them on i would have to be careful in shutting the bonnet in case they cracked

I've never fully understood why anyone would wan't a bad boy bonnet on a car never mind a workhorse van? But each to there own. I wounder if ford would have sold as many if they were "bad boy'd" from the showroom?
