Converting van to crewcab/minibus

Hi, if I were to put in a couple of side windows and another row of seats in my N reg Transit,were would I stand legally?
I mean would I have to re-register the vehicle and would the insurance groupings change?

Any info would be gratefully recieved.

personally ive no idea of the legalitys but ive fitted a row of seats in mine and not told anyone that reminds me i must get round to changing the engine from 2.0 petrol to 2.5 di on the log book

you think thats bad my swb is a 1.6 on the v5c but its got a turbo diesal in it now..

Yep and mines a 2.0 Pinto and has a 2.9V6, it also states it as 'Grey', its the Redest Grey I've ever seen
