16 valve dohc?

Postby davidat19 » Thu Jul 20, 2006 8:57 pm

This is probably a silly question thats been asked before, but will a 16 valve head fit my 8 valve twink?
I would need to use my inlet manifold as its bi fuel.

not a silly question - it's been touched on before but i never got a definate answer :!:

but it seems as a 16v head would fit your block :D but i dont know about the inlet manifold as i was going to use the 16v one- i doubt it would fit but you never know they are very similar :?

btw if you wonder if a question has been asked before juct click "search" at the top of the page type in "DOHC 16v" and you would get all the previous topics :D

most of the 16 valve heads wont fit the 8 valve bottom ends the water ways are not in line and does cause overheat
but there is good news there is a cyl head of the 16 valve type (warrior head )hehe that will fit and if done with the right bottom end will rev at 8000 rpm all day.
but the same bottom end modded to what i no with a stage 2, 8 valve head will run at 9000rpm all day and red lines at 9500rpm and would def pull the skin of that old rice pudding. 8)

Sounds good Cougar.. at the moment the people who f****d up the head are supposed to be fixing it. Then I need to sort the duff springs. When I have it back and have earned a bit with it I might have some money to make it go better. Mind you, it pulled 75 with a ferrari 400 (1850kilos) on the back.
