Smiley wiring for gearbox and tank gauge.

Q. Is the speedometer an MOT testable item? Does it have to work?

I've just changed from a mechanical to an electronic speedo gearbox and replaced the petrol tank with a diesel tank and the matching instruments. (Don't ask!!!) All from the same van.

Is there a sub loom for the gearbox, (electronic) speedo and reversing light? All I can find underneath is a 4 way connector hanging loose. The reverse switch has two contacts and the speedo has three. The fuel gauge wire ends near the gearbox crossmember. Can't find any other wires. I have the wiring diagram, just wondered if there's anything missing?

New to the forum so not sure if in the right place to post this. In prep to overhaul my 5 speed gearbox out of a 1998 VG 2.5 turbo diesel as such I’m chasing a manual or exploded diagram of internals. I can’t find anything on the market or google. Does anyone have anything they can offer me please.
