Increased vibration, potential damage to gearbox input bearing, but hey you might save £50

Id like to point out that I replaced the dmf with a smf as that's what should of actually been in it to begin with , and as far as I know there is no benefit to putting a dmf in an 85ps transit anything over100ps then yes but thats how they come from the factory anyway soo

I have a SMF fitted as a replacement flywheel during a gearbox replacement; was told being simpler was more reliable. The DMF that came out was almost in two parts. I don't think it is quite as smooth as old one. Only issue so far (40,000kms) is a replacement starter motor sometimes whirrs against the flywheel instead of engaging (engages 90% of time). Was told of a critical distance between the pinion and face of flywheel that may be being compromised by different flywheel. Strange!!

Even my 1.6TDCi Focus was nearly a grand, but that included a master cylinder, as well as clutch and DMF :(

Mrk 7 LWB HI TOP MINIBUS got the rattles & bad vibration through peddle & floor. In today for a new clutch, looking at between £800 & £1000
Getting a SMF fitted.
Less to go wrong looking forward.
Had same job done about 15 years ago in my old mrk 2 transit & it did cause a little more vibration but it was ok & not a disaster.
Hopefully not to much increase in vibration in a mrk 7.
