MK 7) Fuse Details Fuse Box Location

The Mk 7 transit has 3 fuse boxes, one under the bonnet and two behind the glove box

Underbonnet Fuse Box
This is located to the right hand side of the engine bay



And with lid removed



Here is the Fuse list



Inside fuse boxes
There are 2 fuse boxes behind the glovebox, to get to them open the glove box, remove the contents, then squeeze the retaining clips and pull it fully forward till its right out and upside down, you should then see this



If you then unlip the cover you have found the first fuse box

If you then unclip the top of the first fuse box and pull it forward and allow it swing down you will have found the second fuse box

Remember if a fuse keeps blowing it indicates a fault, get it repaired before you put another fuse in, NEVER replace a fuse with one of a differant rating to the one that should be there, this is a recipe for a fire.

The fuse box is under the n/s top dash lid (take the 2 front screws out and then just pull itto release the clips) and the diagram is on the inside of the n/s dash lid

Additional information regarding the battery fuse box, located under the drivers seat.

Mk 7 battery or pre-fuse box.
Details from the ford owners handbook.
It lives in the rear of the drivers seat support behind the battery.

Note: this is the dual battery version with the large battery isolator relay. Single battery versions have a solid link in it's place. Access requires you to remove the battery restraint frame.

I found that some fuse locations didn't tally with the handbook that came with my van. (Early Mk7 and new handbook.) Led me a merry dance with a headlamp problem.

The variations are in the Standard Relay Box behind the glovebox.

39 10A dipped beam Right side 10A Front & rear air con control
41 10A dipped beam Left side 5A Tachograph
50 10A Front & rear A/C control 10A main beam Left side
52 5A Tachograph 10A dipped beam Left side
53 10A main beam left side 10A dipped beam Right side

Just wanted to add that fuse 67 "Wiper Stalk Switch" should really be named "Front & Rear Windscreen Washer Motor"
Found this out after we blew it in the cold weather early this year!

Are there any spare fuses anywhere in the box? Are these fuses specific to Ford.
I'm searching my garage and only finding older bigger fuses.

They're mini blade fuses http://www.consumabulbs.com/files/allbulbs.php?cat_id=3 bit I've had a few glasses of Gevrey so I may be wrong.

Yes, bang on - mini blade fuses £1.69 from local garage. I found the spare fuse section in with under bonnet fuses - of course it was empty.
Time for some wine now.

Thanks, would have never have found it without your help.

The fuse for the wiper stalk, no 67, had blown, replaced it with a 15A as advised by yourselves.

However, the washer motor still not working, but if i put a live feed to the wiper motor, it operates via stalk, but the rear wiper works when i press it to wipe.

getting more confused, any more help appreciated.

Anyone local fancy looking at it, be a drink in it for you.

Check the wiring to the motor where it comes down the inner wing, it is a known failure point, the loom has probably worn through

This is the info I was looking for when I joined the forum! I don't have as many relays as that on my main passenger fuzebox and more to the point there is no wiring for r22 and r26 so could some1 pls tell me if I need to go hunting around for a fuzebox that is higher spec, and will the loom plug straight in to my sytem?

does the wiring go to a pcm or something or just through the bulkhead to the ecu or engine?

Any info would be appreciated otherwise it means I'd have to start taking bits apart and tracing wires.

No you cant just plug in a higher spec box, it forms part of the bcm which needs programming to your van by a Ford dealer. I reckon you just go for your plan b and wire screen through a timer and a couple of relays

Cheers ake should i get 2 fuses and 2 timer relays and copy spec or get away with connecting it all into 1?i know if a fuse blows i lose the whole window but if it's just a safety thing?

You need two relays and fuses cos the screen draws 25amps per side, so 50 amps total

where's the central locking fuse / fuses on a mk7? are they still lost somewhere behind steering column, or now under the spare wheel...or somewhere equally as inconvenient !! Or are hey tied in wiht an existing fuse in one of the three boxes?. Any pics to help find them?
