Yep that is why I am confused, as I thought it was SMF on this one, Don't matter wait for the rattle and in goes a SMF... lol

Very strange, all the 85 ps should have solids

Lets put it this way I have done and converted shed loads of DMF systems to solid state and yes I didn't expect to find this puppy in mine. But as this is what I do for a living then I am thinking if it ain't broken then it ain't geting fixed. First rattle and out the little puppy comes. On the drawing board they were a fantastic idea.... The bad part was puting the suckers into production..... Saying that I have made a few quid working on them lol.... BE GOOD NOW...

My dads mk7 85 t260 had a dmf in it for some reason it's on 77k so it may not of been factory fitted ,but still there seems to be massive confusion with garages as to what goes in what

Can someone explain to me a dual mass flywheel and what it's benefits are supposed to be and how can a flywheel go wrong? Isn't it just a piece of heavy metal that spins at the end of the crankshaft to even out the power pulses of the firing cycle and turn that into a smooth rotation of the crank?
How can a spinning piece of metal go wrong?

Because its two pieces of heavy metal joined together with springs, to absorb vibration
