Thats cool, I don't mind that but on this disk, there's no folders or files. Nothing to run open at all.

I think mine has the same leak - the one in the first pic - would this be covered by ford warranty? my tranny is two an a half years old!!

I think the problem that you have is the water pump needs replacing, this is a common problem on teh duratorque engine, the gaskets fail between the waterpump and engine block and also between the water pump and vacumn pump. The coolant leaks from between the water pump and the engine block and the oil from between the vacumn pump and water pump.

Replacing just the gaskets is usually a waste of time as after only a couple of hundred miles the gaskets will fail again. Replacing the waterpump and gaskets usually cures the problem, we have not yet had to change the vacumn/servo pump on one of these.

The oil filter leak could be caused by the drain plug on the middle of the housing, newer housing cups supplied from Fords do not have these drain plugs fitted anymore so it may be worth replacing the filter housing cup and the oil filter, when doing this dont forget to fit the new rubber O ring seal that should be supplied with all new filters.

Thanks Jamie,
I have the weekend off so I'm going to give it a good look and try and sort it once and for all.

It's far more common to have a vacuum pump fail rather than the water pump.

But sometimes it can be just the gasket.

I would suggest having the engine cleaned and run to see the oil find it's path.

the vac pump front seal or the mating face are the areas of concern.

Thanks to Gemini, I now know what the parts are :-D and it does indeed look like it the gasket between the vacuum pump and water pump thats let go.
I have anew one on order and it should be fitted next week.

Thanks guys.

I fitted the new gasket. The old one was a 1mm steel part, the new version a thinner crushable steel item.
I cleaned the engine to check for leaks. The gasket lasted about 40 minutes. and the leak is back.
Is this a common fault? I'm going the replace it again bt this time add a bit of sealant.
