alarm fob problems

hello all new to here! what a fantatstic site! just bought a 53 plate 280 excutive transit van didnt come with the alarm fob so bought one from ford. done the whole ignintion on off 8 times and the 4 time version ive heard about but can not get the locks to cycle to programme the fob! please help?????? as im really pulling my hair out about this problem.

tried it 10 times still not working any ideas what the problem could be? ive checked all the fuses! there all ok central locking all works fine off the key to! just wont cycle to programme the remote!!!!

:idea: Dealer has activated the "hire" mode :wink: (just like mine :lol: )

Will have to go to Fords for them to switch off the "hire " mode via the ECU :wink:

fantastic thanks very much for your advice! will book it into fords this week! makes sense with the history i got with the van. it use to be a demo van for ford so can see why they turned on to hire mode to stop idiots messing about with the alarm fob. again thanks all for the help been pulling my hair out about this problem!
