hi all :D i was on the m4 yesterday havin a bit of a tustle with a sphincter   anyhow at about 85-90 got past the sphincter when all off a sudden i heard a almighty screaming noise  had a check temp ok power ok fuel ok it sounded like a belt or a bearing of some sort like waterpump or alternator or tensioner etc etc so unfortunately im sorry i let the side down  and moved over slowing up letting the struggling german crap go past :? pulled off into services checked everything climbed underneath couldnt find anything  so went on to newbury and guess wot it did it again  so got there to find on the windscreen surround black plastic drivers side there was a piece of thin foam sticking out slightly :? so tucked it back in and hey presto fixed  i guess in the wind it was acting like a blade of grass in your hand when you blow on it :D so after cacking myself thinking this is a mk6 so its gonna hurt it turns out not all mk6 repairs are expensive phew and watch that foam guys 8)

I'll check mine tommorrow, been getting a noise like a bumble bee on acid (very loud, as if it's right in your ear), from the passenger side. Started very suddenly last week, and it's really starting to piss me off
