Alloy Wheel Nuts

Good evening

I have a mk6 t350 transit and a set of mk7 genuine alloy wheels that I want to fit to it.

However, I've been advised that I need different wheel nuts. I'm led to believe I require M14 x 2.0 flat fixing alloy nuts.

Is this correct?

Also, does anybody know where I can source them from?

I've been looking on the interweb and I can't seem to find any in the size above with the flat face.

I spoke to ford and they seemed to think that they were about £9.70 each! I did ask the chap to check he didn't mean per corner, but apparently that's what his system told him! Madness...

The standard steel wheel nuts will work.

I've been advised that whilst they will "work", they'll eventually destroy the wheels or work loose....

Wheel nuts/bolts

Going from running steel wheels to a set of alloys? You’re going to need new wheel bolts/nuts then (depending on what your car has fitted)! The type of fixings you use on steel wheels are not suitable for use with alloy wheels – because they’re much harder. This means that they can eventually chew through the bit of the alloy responsible for holding them to your hubs! Not good at all! Standard Ford transit steel flat washer nuts are fine on them, they are identical to the ally ones, they aren't tapered which may have been a problem but these just compress on, the stud's are plenty long enough too, mine are flush with the end of the nut.


They do look a bit rubbish against you alloys tho so you may want to buy some 21mm plastic chrome caps or spray your original caps or buy some chrome coated nuts .
