Help needed on buying a MK6 transit.

Postby Tin soldier » Mon May 25, 2015 5:17 pm

Hi, i was wondering if i could get some advice on buying a 2002 2.4 125 T350 Transit: i have seen one with 85000 miles and which appears to be very clean in and out, and also what seems to be fairly low money. Can anyone/owners tell me what the reliability of this engine/model is, any known weak points and what if anything i should be checking for ?
... also what sort of Road tax this attracts each year ?

Many thanks for any help..

The mileage sounds very low, worth checking old MOT's just in case. Check for rust underneath, I've seen lovely shiny vans that are shagged down below. I think those engines are fairly good. Someone with more RWD knowledge will be along shortly to advise.

Rust, that's the main thing to look for. Most things can be fixed but metal moth is the worst.
