Sloppy gears and won't go in reverse

Postby forzamc » Fri Jun 19, 2015 10:02 am

Hi

My mk6 transit has recently developed a problem

It won't go in reverse unless I turn the engine off, and going into other gears feels really sloppy.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I had the same problem with mine, but also used to jump out of reverse, sometimes grinding when trying to select 2nd gear aswell, changed the gear cables, and it was like driving a brand new van.

It's a 52 plate t100, think it's front wheel drive.

Gear cables or gear selector turret worn, I'd say

Thanks a lot guys will try replacing cables, the only I don't understand is why it would go in reverse without the engine running, does that not sound like a clutch fault?

Before the gears went sloppy there was no indication of any fault with the clutch?
