but you can of a few other sites but alarms pedal locks hide obd port is a very good way to not get it stolen

They bit old skool these days but it's a visible deterrent - can't miss the bloody thing - an hope it just makes them look for another easier van to take that's less hassle.

I am an Auto locksmith who has a Mk7, on it is fitted.

Loom guards,
Drivers door lock replacement,
Slam lock on side door,
Handle blocker on inside of side door,
L4V Ultimate lock on rear door,

A few more bits beside those on mine, but the above costs a good £300 fitted and will make all but the determined thieves look elsewhere.

On my Mk7 I've fitted a replacement driver's door lock, a dash cam constantly recording (not just while driving) to a hidden/secured card, a GPS tracker w/live internet tracking, and loom guards.
I've also disabled the OBD port (and put warning stickers to that effect on the windows - don't know if that would be a deterrent?) and fitted a couple of other things it wouldn't be wise to post about online.

I've also got CCTV on the house, covering where it's parked.

Even with all that, since my mate (another kitchen fitter) got his van done for around £6.5k of tools, I've stopped leaving my tools in overnight. It's a bit of a pain emptying them out when I get back off a job, but for the 5-10 minutes it takes it's worth it for the piece of mind. The biggest hassle is having to have them in the living room...

I took my tools in the house and while I was on holiday had the place broken into and £30k+ of tools stolen.
I know where they ended up but it's hard to get them back from Eastern Europe.
