Van broken down again!! Hacked off now!!!

OK, after the trouble I had with the fuel filter housing on this bus I decided to get a brand new genuine Ford filter and housing fitted costing several hundred quid!! Picks van up from garage and it runs great with no fault codes etc coming up.
Around 100 miles later.........
Goes out Friday afternoon and the van promptly dies and won't restart.

Garage towed me in as thankfully I was only 1/2 mile away from them. They stuck the diagnostics on it but no fault codes showing up. After several attempts at starting it they took the filter off only to find it had no fuel in it?

They are going to look at it again tomorrow but i'm at a loss as to why the filter is empty? Does this mean the fuel is not getting pumped through ?

The fuel gets sucked from the pump going back to the filter head and tank, only petrol or lift pump(most likely sucks from tank allowing fuel pump to do less work)will pump fuel to the pump but if there are any splits or worn seals anywhere then the fuel is released with air and doesn't move very well, bit like air in the brakes.

The fact that the filter head was replaced And you did 1000 miles without issue is the tricky bit I've no idea how a filter head can fail so prematurely

Maybe it is a coincidence and something else has failed?

Only managed 100 miles so it is a bit strange.
Maybe it is time to get all the fuel lines replaced.

Ah i misread that, but still 100 miles should have still told you if it was faulty tho.

I had similar problem when driving for say more than 30 miles or so it would konk out but if I turned key on and off few times could get it to start I had slight leak in fuel line which was creating an air lock in the system hope this helps

Hi may be worth having a look in the tank it's self see if pick up pipe is blocking up with dirt seen this a fue times
