Sliding door lock fault (none central locking)

Postby BarryTC » Mon Jun 29, 2015 2:31 pm

Hi guys
can you help us out here, we have an 2004 hightop MWB 12 seater minibus. It does not have central locking. The problem is that the passenger side sliding door will not unlock from the key. You can unlock and lock from the inside using the black turn knob. you can also lock it with the key. We have three keys for the bus and they all work on every other door but not the lock in question. The lock does not click when trying to unlock it with the key as it seems to be jammed?

Is it a new lock barrel or is it fixable as its a pain to climb in via the opposite sliding door?

Try some wd40 in it and wiggle it, they will always lock but if it won't free off to unlock them you probably need a new barrel :-(

Thanks for the reply, already tried WD40, so its probably a new barrel.

It could be the lock has worn if you use it a lot.

I thought lock wafer kits were available if your suitably skilled and want to rebuild the lock, but I can't find any on the usual sources.

mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small
