'lecky window annoyance.

Postby Jim Archer » Wed Jul 15, 2015 11:26 am

Is there any way to disable the drivers window winding itself all the way down if you even look at the button? I find meself inordinately annoyed by this

You'd have to play with the 1 touch relay.

If you tap the button it goes all the way down, if you hold it a second and a half or so, it won't go down.
Think these are bad, try the Peugeot ones :?

One touch down (on driver's window only).

Tap the "down" button once and the window starts going down. Tap again and the window stops.

"Tap - Tap" drops the window a couple of inches.

Simples.

On a window side note, can you IDS it so that they close automatically on key fob door lock?

I don't think so as it is just a relay in the door and nothing to do with the BCM.

I should remind you that you don't have this sort of trouble with manual winders :D

I've now discovered another small issue, hold both botton down and the winder motors are obviously short on current. Normal? Or dodgy earth?

Also is there no stop switch at top or bottom of travel?

All this new technology to play with ... :P

The windows can be a bit sluggish at the best of times, especially if the engine is not running.

I only operate one window at a time.

Some talcum powder in the guides helps a little (until it rains).

If you hold the switch down when the window is at the limit of its travel you will overheat the motor and it will trip out and need to cool down to reset itself.

The OTD relay senses the increased current of the stalled motor at the end of travel and switches off.
