Load bay light

Postby the gardener » Sat Apr 28, 2007 8:58 pm

2001 SWB mid roof model. There are two load bay lights, one works one does'nt. The non worker is the rearmost. There appears to be a corroded connector with three wires in and two out. The three in are orange stripe, black stripe and black. The two out are orange stripe and black. Can I bypass the connector and connect like to like in which case what is black stripe wire for?

can you not just spray the connecter in wd40 leave it to soak and give it a bit of a scrub then put a new bulb in.

to bypass it just connect a bit of wire like for like without taking the connecter out (see if it works first). the last wire could be a spure for somthing else, but what i would imagine it for is an earth.

Bypass complete

Wires in had corroded and dropped out so bypassed connector with scotchlocks and new short wires, and replaced bulb and now works. If only everything were that simple.
