Heated mirror fuse.

Postby Milemuncher » Wed May 09, 2007 10:19 pm

Since new if I am honest really the heated mirrors (and rear windows) constantly blow the fuse. I wonder why they are combined and not fused separately ? I need to disconnect all four items and plug in one at a time and see when the fuse pops.

Does anyone think that the limo tint on the rear windows will cause excessive current consumption, therefore blowing the fuse ? I don't need the windows to heat, just the mirrors for driving in the rain. Can't see out of the windows anyway in the inside mirror due to van layout. Hopefully will be spade connectors inside the rear door panels that are easy to get to.

As in another post, I hope the van is under warranty, and let them have a look, but I want to remove the trim panels for them, as I just know they will lose the screws/coloured caps/damage the fabric/etc. Or will they think I have been messing with it if I do that ?

Nothing lost, nothing gained.

Anyway thanks for your replies............Turned out it was a chafed wire in the rear offside door.

Took the Ford dealer no time at all to find. I am impressed.
