valuation advice please

Postby Suggs » Thu May 24, 2007 6:48 pm

Hi all

i may sell my van in the next few months, as to be honest i dont really need such a big one now days..

so would like a ruff idea what a fair price to advertise it at..

details

02 High roof LWB 350
1 owner non vat
Blue
about 55,000 mls
boarded out with bulkhead
electric windows
electric\ heated mirrors
becker SAT/NAV system with cd and radio
service history.
good nick with no corrosion etc, but with the normal scratches and minor dings a working van picks up

had the clutch done (single mass flywheel conversion) apart from this its never broken down..

it has sign writing (stickers) that ill most likley remove, and would be propley prepaired to be sold on, valeted and serviced etc

cheers
Harry

Now I have seen a picture of it I would suggest IF you are serious about selling it then to remove ALL the sign writing before you advertise it.
I used to work for a Bathroom supplier, often we delivered the tiles and whenever we had to do this the wieght limit was quickly reached, as is the way with works vans the boss never wants to hear about the wieght just how many drops you can get on. I would look at your van and think (rightly or wrongly) that it has been regularly overloaded.
Just removing the sign writing is one thing but get the van T-Cutted afterwards as even clean that sort of writing leaves a mark at certain angles.
As for value difficult as although new the LWB cost more than the MWB or SWB these two versions are the types that hold their values better. maybe 4K-5k going by how much ex-bt's go for.

thanks

to honest i was thinking to remove the stickers and get it moped over to get rid of any trace, thing is its not really abused as im a tiler so only carry tiles now and again and no more than a pallet which is max 1 ton, its more used to carry samples and tools, and i used to do a lot of track days on bikes so got the big van to carry the bikes around the country and sleep in the back.

now days the bikes are gone and i dont supply many tiles anymore, with B&Q selling cheap crap its not worth the trouble, i tend to do more marble work now and get it delivered as its super heavy..

if someone offered 5k when it goes on the market id snap there hand off lol

Well as I said it is difficult as it is a LWB, not as wanted as the other 2 types. Plenty will argue the benifits but try parking a LWB in a street on a regular basis...not fun.
Shove it on ebay with a sensible reserve (don't start it too high) and see what you get offered...shame that last week was the free listing day for motors.

parking is another reason why im thinking of selling, times i pull up at a job and have to park half way up the road then lug all my gear back..lol

im not rushing into it but ill see what happens over the next few months then make my mind up..

thing is with this being my other van, going to work is way more fun..
