hi there everyone, does anyone know how to get the bonnet to open on a mk6? it was ok with the key but it is not playing now.(thanks)

if you have a spre key try that as i had this and tried the spare and it worked as the key had worn.

There is no bonnet release lever in the van, you use the key in the grille.

The grill sometimes works a little loose, so when putting the key in push the key fully home...then push a bit more up against the grill, then unlock. If the locks not buggered this should solve it!

Try pushing / thumping down on the edge of the bonnet whilst turning the key clockwise. Works on mine.

This thread is BS, mk6's don't break down so why would you need to open the bonnet?


......unless you're wanting to jump start a sprinter? :lol:

I had to jump start a sprinter at my work the other day, Only after the guy tried to give himself a push start :lol:
