When my transit is on a long journey, it starts to have problems with the gear changes, once your pull over and it cools down, it goes back to normal. This does not happen again till you go on a long journey, has anyone else experienced this? Do you know what the problem is?

It was deliberate, I will admit
It simply needs a new style slave cylinder so that it can't draw air into the hydraulics The good news is:- It is fixable and it is a direct replacement Bad news is:- it's best if a Ford dealer does it and it isn't cheap I think the part is over £200

I did notice the sh*t ref, but was too polite to mention!!!!!
If I dont get it done immediatley, whats is likley to happen? I was thinking of part chopping it in the not to distant future, and could do without spending the dosh, but if is gonna cause further problems I will get it done.

If you're "chopping it in" then I wouldn't bother either unless it gets worse/have to for some reason
That way the dealer can fix it for the next owner
