Heaterbox problems

Postby joelp67 » Tue Jun 12, 2007 8:30 am

Hi, I'm having problems with my heater box too, it's a 2005 model so I suppose a Mk6 or 7. The fan works fine, the air-con works fine, it blows on your feet fine, it blows in your face just fine but it doesn't blow on the screen. I took it into Dagenham motors yesterday for a service and to get it checked out, they said I needed a new heater box and it would be £1200 fitted!!! obviously I walked away with a still faulty heater box..... They did say that they had another one recently with the same problem which is why they new what it was with out taking the dash off, the actual heater box has a plastic flap to direct the air to the screen which has snapped off is the explanation. I have had the car from new and have treated it respectfully at all times, if I replace this part and fork out £1200 who's to say it's not going to happen again? I think this should be a recall! BTW I bought this transit from Italy so only got 2 years warranty.... damn!
Any ideas of how to put pressure on Fords to repair out of warranty?
Regards

Seems to be a common problem. If it is Ford should do something about it, just how are you going to do that.... Shame it isn't Ford USA as their customer service is way better then the European one.
