I've put redex diesel treatment directly into the fuel filter and driven it.

It only smokes when I go from no throttle to full throttle but then it clears, so I can rev and hold and no smoke just when boosting.

Right I've stripped it down, the timing cover fell off as the Sealant was shocking, it was ford but hard and off so resulted in just being like a biscuit layer and that's why the oil was dripping out, decided to remove the cam carrier as I'd used it on that and by God it was worse, pulled off like a scab ffs.

Anyway new tube of ford sealant today and injected on correctly and in the right amount and I'm very happy. Only done the carrier as the cover is covered in the old crap, it came off the engine in 1 but stuck hard to the cover. Debating whether to clean it or just get another 1.

Also the turbo inlet was full of oil and the 4 glow plugs were wet with fresh oil. I can only think copper washers really, causing crankcase pressure and feeding into the cylinders but the tips of the glow plugs are the only bit in the cylinder and although not gas tight I can't really see how the whole glow plug tip end can be covered so much.
Thinking of getting the injectors tested on Monday locally. Anyone blocked the breather tube to get it through the test?

Fabricate a rudimentary catch can for convenience, I wouldn't block the crankcase breather but I would block it going into the turbo.

A installing a beer bottle is fabricating a rudimentary catch can.
And ordering may not work in the current timescale he is working with in the current order to delivery timescale these days.

Retest is Thursday. Hopefully I can clean the toning cover enough for the Sealant to be effective, very happy with the top, got in at 2am.
Would be pissed off if the replacement turbo was faulty, there's a tiny amount of movement maybe 1mm or so but no lateral shaft movement that I can feel.

It would be great if the injectors came back knackered because I just want to see an actual cause and effect of a real problem rather than half problems and no solid faults. :(

I'm also battling against expensive guesses.

Strangely from a distance I could see the tester doesn't more time under the bonnet than near the exhaust

Presumably looking for the correct form and function of the emissions control systems. Strangely all this talk about them having the power to diagnose the vehicle by obd Well he didn't.

Also if the centre box is full of crap can it be cleaned? I am looking at 260 pounds for a full system replacement which is reasonable but not if say the rings are dud. Although not a whiff of blue smoke is seen just thick black soot.

Right so I've got no leaks, engine is nice and dry save the remnants of oil that's on it, timing cover and cam carrier is sweet. Vacuum pump gasket is dry, in the words of the late Bigjohnthomas, all good perfect.

The smoke is still there and the exhaust smells horrible. Thick black smoke on kick down. I'm attempting to change the software back to what it was even though I think it is right Now

It will be interesting if you do find the problem, because we never did find out why our 2000 focus diesel smoked excessively, in spite of spending mucho dineros on diagnosis, and many new parts, trying to find a cure :?

There's a few unknown things, I've used old scv but passed learns every time. The guy said the pcm was remapped but I've reprogrammed it several times with ids, but can there be different levels of map ie could they have increased something that isn't accessed by the ids?

Injectors will get tested tomorrow.

So the sticker on the door pillar is KF but I can't find it for download, kv is and it works the vnt actuator but I don't know if it is the right 1 :? If would be cool to get hold of a working 130ps pcm and code that in, it would remove doubt.
