FA or VM

Postby Mehariman » Sun May 09, 2021 2:37 pm

Hi
I want to replace the door seals on my 2010 registered mk7, there seem to be two types of seal, one fits FA and one VM. How do I tell whether my van is an FA or a VM please?
Thank you
Mike

Do you have any links to, or pictures of, these two seals :?:

2010 Mk7 is a VM in Aussie land. Don't know of a FA as such.

Hi Altransit
Various sellers on the interwebbery thang have seals for sale, some say it is for FA or VM ant won't fit the other, some make no distinction. Their pictures of the cross section are not clearly different and all seem to quote the same length at 4.2m. Really wondering if it matters which I get?
Thanks

Could you not go on catcar info and out in your van details and see what part number is gives?

Thanks Nobby maybe I'll just assume it's a VM then. I wondered if it was part of the vin number, or a body code... Van is a swb, fwd, low roof, Trend.

Hi gt-addict
The part number given in catcar is 1555296 but all the sellers (I've seen), who quote part numbers, include this one along with others regardless of the VM/FA distinction.
I think I'm going to take a punt on one, they all look the same and if the right length can't really not fit? Mk 6 ones seem to lack an inner lip but all the mk 7 ones have it. Perhaps they just improved it over the production period?
Thank you for your help.
