If it were mine, I would try adding some veg oil (a few litres) and a small quantity of pure acetone

My TDDi used to love it, but I daren't try it in the Mk7

Can I use veg oil in the mk6 as that would probably work
It did in the mk5 and that never failed on smoke

I used it in my Mk6, and that was still going strong with 212k on the clock. You don't have to carry on using it long term if you're not sure

Cleaned the manifold and egr out wasn’t that bad to be honest

5 litres in about half a tank should be good, best changing both the air and fuel filters, as well as an oil change.
There's not really much more you can do without getting into new injectors :?

That does seem strange :?

Apart from what I've suggested, I don't know what to advise. Maybe someone else will have some ideas
